What tech stacks you guys settled on?Īll of my infrastructure runs Slackware, which means I don't have to use Docker or other containerization. It's still a bare idea so I'm thinking learning from more experiences. But I might start tinkering with more servers/VPS in the future as I would like a seperated backup/monitor center. The server is not a strong one and probably not worth a cluster setup. Still manageable through my familiar Portainer. With cockpit as a simple usable web sysadmin ui in case I'm lazy with SSH Some base options I'm currently looking at are:Īlma/Rocky Linux as a strong base OS. Preferably a web-based terminal/filemanager/resource monitor Log monitor/backup/security hardening and other things I'm missing for a proper server Ability for scaling up to multiple nodes.Įasily configurable reverse-proxy with service discovery such as Traefik, and Authelia as a unified auth for services without one Mostly container-based, with an OS I can actually work with in rare cases. Recently I'm planning to revamp the whole setup for a more long-lasting one. I'm also a bit uncomfortable with the hybrid setup. It's Webmin behind Caddy (in a subdir on a subdomain) behind Traefik. Ubuntu, with Docker+Portainer+Traefik for most servicesĪ weird setup of Caddy+Webmin for managing the server with web and other legacy stuff. It started early and gradually moved to a more docker-based setup. Currently I'm running a dedicated internet server with some services I use selfhosted (Git/syncthing/rsshub etc.).
